On April 28 to 29, SQI held and hosted the online video seminar of the working group on bed furniture test methods (WG4) of ISO / TC 136 Furniture Technical Committee. More than 20 international experts from 6 countries including China, Italy, Britain, France, Sweden and United States attended the meeting.

At the meeting, experts studied the working group draft (WD) texts and feedback opinions of two international standards, namely, ISO 9098-1 Safety Requirements for Furniture Bunk Beds and ISO 9098-2 Test Methods for Furniture Bunk Beds which were undertaken by SQI. Experts discussed on the application scope of the standard, overall structure, test sequence, dimension and mechanical property requirements of special products. Due to the adequate preparation and appropriate response of SQI experts, the experts at the meeting all approved the modification scheme and the project was carried forward smoothly. Experts from SQI and another 3 experts from Sweden, Denmark and the United Kingdom would form a special working group for drafting standards, which will focus on tackling technical difficulties of standards in the future.

The technical team of SQI collected a large number of first-hand data and technical information by visiting and investigating double bed production enterprises and furniture sales outlets and finally formed the first draft of the standard through continuous summary, analysis and internal discussion.
