The business scope of SQI covers products quality
inspection; testing; certification; products
verification; metrology verification and calibration;
profession quality supervision and standardization
service; ISO 9000, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18000 system
audit; research and development of testing equipment,
technology and quality system; technology service,
consultation, transferring and training, quality
servicing, etc.
Occupying an area of more than 30,000 m2, SQI
has more than 5000 instruments and equipments,
a large part of which have reached the international
advanced level. Its testing items, which are
certified and accredited nationally, are about
3,000 and metrology calibration items are about
70.The main inspection business scope of SQI
includes: food, cosmetics, electric light source,
lamps and lanterns, household electrical appliances,
electrical equipment, furniture, light industry
products, chemical products, mechanical &
electrical products, construction and house
decoration and furnishing materials, etc. The
metrology business scope includes verification,
calibration and testing of special instruments
and meters in geometrical quantity, thermotechnics
, mechanics, electromagnetics, physical chemistry,
radio, time and frequency, optics, etc. SQI
has taken part in the laboratory proficiency
testing among international and domestic laboratories
held by FAPAS (Britain), RSM (Australia), General
Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection
and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China
(AQSIQ), Certification and Accreditation Administration
of the People's Republic of China, China National
Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment
(CNAS), China Quality Certification Center (CQC),
industry associations, etc. SQI has become one
of the best institute of quality inspection
and technical research with its continuous improving
integrative capability.
SQI has a branch of SQI Library of Shanghai
Standard Reference Library, and meanwhile it
includes one National Standardization Technical
Committee, two branches of National Standardization
Technical Committee and some Industry and Shanghai
Institutions of Standardization .SQI has presided
to formulate and amend dozens of national and
industrial standards over the past years and
also taken an active part in ISO and IEC international
standardization activities.
SQI has made various forms of technical cooperation
with its counterparts both at home and abroad,
such as CB Laboratory of IECEE, IECQ, UL-TPTDP,
CSA, IMQ, KEMA, CQC, CEMC, CSC, ITS, SGS, TUV,
etc.
As a third party of quality inspection and
testing agency, SQI will provide high quality
